I already have a house but I like how you inform the rest of us what you’re seeing out there on mainstreet vs. what some corporation in Atlanta (cnn) thinks is going on.
It’s amazing that the market is picking back up. Do you see investors starting to come back? Or are you seeing more solid homeowners buying into the market??
Thanks for the question Jeramiah.
In answer to your question, yes the market (at least in the Phoenix area) is picking back up. I am seeing some Primary residents that were sitting on the fence now purchasing because of the tax credit, but honestly, most buyers are snowbirds that live in the Northern US or Canadian buyers that are in awe of the rock bottom prices in the Phoenix area.
I show many clients single family detached homes in the $90,000 range, and most of them, especially Canadians tell me that the same home where they are from would run $300,000 +or so!
okay so 300k+ for a house built by a developer like Centex? Or are they not telling you that these homes are custom built homes, or is the market really that different up there? hehe
